EMMA2Bluetooth

Robot Communication System

EMMA2 is a mobile autonomous robot designed and constructed at the department. The robot's hardware is based on a Sony Clie handheld computer being equipped with a camera and a Bluetooth communication device. The two major goals of the project are the software support of PC-robot and robot-robot communciation. While the former should enable program downloads and robot state uploads (also for debugging), the latter should augment the robots with inter-robotic communication based on a protocol to be developed (or reused). As a final proof of concept simple control programs (including inter-robotic communication) should be downloaded and executed on the robots.
