EMMA1

Software Integration

EMMA1, a small mobile autonomous robot designed and constructed in our department, is equipped with a B/W camera and has a fuzzy controller "brain". In order to ease software development and analysis of experiments, we have been developing a tool chain, which should be tested and integrated by refactoring existing robot programs operating on the "pure" hardware. Specifically, the existing programs should be adapted to run under EOS (EMMA Operating System), and an improved download program (based on the current tool) should assist the human operator in transferring EMMA1 programs to the robot and in debugging and communicating with the robot. Finally, some demonstration programs for the improved EMMA1 should be implemented in order to verify the successful software integration.
