RoboBirds

Simulation of the Evolution of the Behavior of Migratory and Sedentary Birds

Building upon the existing SIMMA robot simulator experiments to evolve artificial neural networks (brains) controlling the behavior of the robot (bird) should be designed, implemented, and carried out. Subsequently, the brain structures of birds with migratory behavior should be compared to those with sedentary behavior using the existing netGlass tool for analysis of the evolved networks. Then, the results can potentially be used to explain differences in brain structure in real birds.
